Technical Sales - Inbound


The Inbound Representative is responsible for achieving sales revenue and profit goals by managing the relationships and experiences of the customers. Their primary activity is answering inbound calls and emails from customers and/or prospects and generating sales from these interactions. They play a key role in representing the company by providing the customer with the most professional and consultative selling experience possible by creating customer satisfaction and adding value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reactively answers calls/emails from potential, new and existing customers and profitably increases wallet share for these groups
  • Increases order size by suggesting related items and linking them to customer needs
  • Owns, qualifies and develops opportunities passed from marketing and other sources
  • Keeps abreast of new products and strategizes how they can use new products to increase wallet share of their customers
  • Utilizes the necessary sales tools as specified
  • Identifies ways for continuous improvement of sales processes
  • Understands competitive pricing and how to use it in selling value to their customers and prospects
  • Collaborates with other departments to grow sales and profitability of customers and prospects
  • Effective in presenting and selling solutions to customers to grow wallet share
  • Approaches the management of their calls from a strategic perspective to understand overall customer needs and creates a sales approach to uncover opportunities
  • Accurately records customer and prospect contact information into business systems
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as may be assigned by management


Education, Certifications and Licenses

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Experience and Competencies

  • 2 to 5 years of call center experience preferred
  • Experience in an industrial environment preferred
  • Experience using CRM systems, Microsoft Office and the Internet
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to prospect and market concepts to existing and potential customers
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced team environment
  • Experienced with setting sales and profit goals and understanding how to achieve them
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to interpret complex information and use it to grow sales
  • Ability to listen effectively and interpret customer needs

Substantial time is spent working on a computer and performed primarily in an office settingWorking extended and flexible hours may be requested occasionally. 

Excellent total compensation package, salary contingent upon experience. M/F/V/D
