Senior Financial Analyst (Operations and Supply Chain)

We are actively seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst to provide financial insight and leadership to Supply Chain and Operations. This key person will develop and maintain a deep understanding of Company cost structures across both COGS and SG&A cost centers. This role will sustain product cost standards to ensure accurate profitability reporting by business segment and reliability of Inventory Data quality, in addition to SG&A reporting and analytics.

Working under direction of the FP&A Director, the position requires a proactive and dynamic person to act as the key business partner to the Executive management team driving initiatives and projects within the organization to better track, understand and predict results. 

The individual needs to be highly analytical with the ability to collect, analyze and interpret quantitative data, create meaningful reports, and make sound business recommendations to Executive Management. They must be a collaborative problem-solver, who not only understands the numbers, but also the broader business context around them. To be successful, the person must be able to communicate effectively with both the finance teams as well as the supply chain teams. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO: Make an impact. Have a voice. 

  • Provide Financial Leadership and Support for VP Operations and VP Supply Chain. This includes developing detailed understanding of cost structures and trends, identification of opportunities for significant cost savings, and partnering with Supply Chain and Operations to implement these savings and improve EBITDA performance. 
  • Develop, document, and execute annual Cost Standards Setting process in collaboration with other functions involved with establishing BOM’s (R&D) and routings (Operations). Carry out ongoing variance analysis and monitor cost savings performance relative to plan.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within FP&A and in other functions in development of the Annual Operating Plan and Monthly Forecasts.
  • Own SG&A Budget-setting process, monitor and analyze cost variance to Plan and previous year, and identify opportunities for cost savings and profitability improvement. Work with Human Resources to ensure accuracy of headcount reporting.
  • Monitor working capital performance trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive Operational excellence to ensure accurate actual financial reporting and analysis. Identify opportunities for process simplification, document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility as needed .

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field from an accredited four-year university, required
  • MBA, CMA, or CFA, preferred

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing finance in a standard cost environment. 5+ years of experience including financial systems, accounting, or controllership a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of costing and standards in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with ERP financial systems such as Oracle or SAP, required
  • Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
